First in a series, Melvin Fine Mouse: First Day of School
Introducing Melvin Fine Mouse with his new title, Melvin Fine Mouse: First Day of School.
A young mouse wakes and prepares for his first day of school with a loving family and new friends. Miss Nibbles, William, and Pete are all a part of Melvin's day. Breakfast, a bus ride, school activities, and time with Mom and Dad are presented in a positive non-threatening way to prepare a youngster for a first day of school. Told in clever rhyme the story flows with a fresh rhythm. All illustrations are hand painted by author Beth Crews Rommel who has been an artist, librarian, and graphic designer for elementary schools as well as for university students.
"I predict Melvin will become another bedtime favorite for your children or grandchildren! I'm going to "give Melvin" to my great nieces and nephews for Christmas." - from a Houston reader

Sin City or the home of the Saints, otherwise known as New Orleans, is where Beth was born. She also lived for many years in the heart of Texas, San Antonio. Beth has absorbed the colorful nature of her hometowns. These two cities in particular have added a flavor to her work that exudes boldness, humor, and imagination. The Dallas/Ft. Worth, Santa Fe, and Orlando areas have also been home to the artist. They have added accents of their own. Beth has recently moved to the Atlanta area and is looking forward to absorbing the hues it has to offer.
Beth is an experienced illustrator, artist, and graphic designer with an understanding of working with deadlines and working within a budget.
